Synopsis

Needs-based CSR emphasises tailoring corporate social responsibility initiatives to address specific societal challenges and community needs. By focusing on targeted interventions, this approach ensures that resources and efforts are utilised effectively to create meaningful and sustainable social impact.

This session explores how businesses, governments, and communities can direct financial resources toward addressing systemic inequities—particularly in healthcare—through needs-based corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainable financing, and multi-sector collaboration. Experts delve into how needs-based CSR has been instrumental in overcoming barriers to equity. The conversation will also highlight successful examples of how purpose-led CSR have addressed socioeconomic disparities, showcasing frameworks and strategies that specifically target the needs of underserved populations.

Featuring thought leaders from the public sector, civil society, and the corporate world, the session will spotlight how the Rare Disease Fund (RDF) exemplifies the power of mission-aligned capital in improving access and outcomes for underserved populations. Through real-life narratives, policy insights, and cross-sector dialogue, this hybrid event invites participants to reimagine capital as a force not just for profit, but for purpose.
